The healing power of music
For children living in Golan communities, the constant threat of attacks from Lebanon over the last 15 months has been harrowing and further exacerbated by the uncertainty of living on the Syrian border.
Seven-year-old Yali is one of many in her community whose anxiety soared, refusing to be separated from her parents and displaying increasingly erratic behaviour.
But from the moment a music mobile therapy unit arrived in Yali’s community, her dependency and behaviour changed. The colourful Myisrael-funded unit is fully equipped with state-of-the-art music technology and an expert team of music therapists who are bringing so much joy and comfort to Yali and her friends, uplifting the whole community as a result.
The unit will remain stationed in the Golan for the next few months before moving on to other areas, ultimately helping thousands of children and adults find a release from the trauma of war.
