Marathon of Meaning: Giant Walk Raises £40,000

On Sunday 14 September, 23 incredible supporters laced up their trainers and set off from Maidenhead to Hampton Court for The Giant Walk – a marathon-distance challenge in aid of Myisrael.

Covering either the full 42 km or the 21 km half-marathon, participants ranged in age from 11 to 70. Families, colleagues and friends trained for weeks and then walked side by side, turning the challenge into a shared journey of endurance and solidarity.

The result? An amazing £40,000 raised from over 300 donors in the UK and abroad – funds that will deliver trauma therapy, bereavement counselling, financial relief for families in crisis, and vital support for vulnerable people across Israel.

The dedication and commitment of our Giant Walk fundraisers was truly phenomenal,” said Danni Franks, CEO and Founder of Myisrael. It was a powerful show of solidarity at a time when Israelis are suffering deeply. Two years of war and instability have left millions traumatised, and the impact of these donations will be life-changing.”

For walker Melodie Isaacs, the challenge carried personal meaning:

Since 7 October – my birthday, and now a date marked by tragedy in Israel – the country has taken an even deeper place in my heart. Completing The Giant Walk left me tired and aching, but also gave me a profound sense of resilience and connection – a reminder of the strength to endure and recover, even in the most difficult times. Am Yisrael Chai.”

Ten hours of perseverance. 42 kilometres of grit. Thousands of steps taken in memory, in solidarity, and in celebration of Israel’s resilience.

Every step raised hope. Every pound will change lives.
