Living with loss

It was the phone call she prayed she would never receive. But when Na’ama’s fiancé, Franco, was tragically killed in Gaza, her world fell apart – her wedding plans shattered and her dreams of a family with the man she loved destroyed.

Every day felt like a living nightmare until she joined a unique support group for unmarried partners of fallen IDF soldiers. There, Na’ama met many others like her who were struggling to cope. With individual and group counselling funded by Myisrael and the friendship of other bereaved partners, Na’ama is slowly rebuilding her life and finding new reasons to feel grateful every day.

Since the start of the war, there have been 338 newly-bereaved partners of IDF soldiers and Myisrael has funded over 730 individual counselling sessions, bringing hope and light to those who thought it lost forever.
