MASLAN: counselling and support for survivors of rape and sexual assault
MASLAN is the centre for battered and sexually abused women of the southern region of israel. MASLAN offers essential emotional and practical support to victims of sexual and domestic violence and runs education programmes aimed at raising awareness in order to reduce and ultimately eradicate such violence.
Target: £9,000 towards the new long-term counselling unit
MTova : computer access and training for underprivileged populations
MTova operates 5 computer centres throughout Jerusalem aimed at providing underprivileged populations with the necessary computer literacy skills needed to succeed in today’s world. These programmes help bridge social gaps, reduce unemployment, and improve the earning powers of the underpaid.
Target: £8,697 to fund 3 employment courses for new immigrants
Girlfriends IDF: emotional support for partners of fallen soldiers
Girlfriends IDF was established in order to provide emotional and emergency assistance for girlfriends and fiances of fallen soldiers. These women are provided with a framework of support groups which are led by professional group counsellors who help them cope with the terrible tragedy that has befallen them. The girls also receive assistance with other matters relating to this trauma such as help paying for medication.
Target: £2,182 to pay for 2 relaxation days for 40 girls each
